New Beginnings. Again.

Regarding williamfairaday.com:

So, I guess I'm pretty accustomed to completely overhauling my website about once a year. Hell, I've lost track of all of the variants I've had over the years. Well. Earlier this year, I let my domain expire and kinda gave up on posting at all. I had better things to do. Now, I'm actually going to try to update this blog regularly.

To that end, let me introduce myself. My name is William, and since about 1997, I've used the online alias of 'Fairaday'. Yes, I know it's misspelled. But at this point, I've stopped caring.

I live in the Bay Area, and work in Silicon Valley. Housing prices are horrible, but they have all the burritos you can eat.

I went to art school (for Fashion/Menswear) in SF, and in doing so, I've paid a lot of other people's money to be able to call myself a designer. When I say a lot, let's just say that when kids coming out of college complain about being $30k in debt, I laugh. Hard. And keep laughing.

Over the last few years, I've been slowly trying to get myself back into fashion, utilizing what I've learned in SV and the tech industry, as well as what I've discovered online. Which leads me to this site.

Recently, I began uploading glitch art work I've created over the last few years as print designs at Live Heroes. Honestly, it's a lot of fun to finally see designs I've created as prints, even if they're just mock ups. And last week, someone bought a dress of one of my prints. It was a pretty fantastic feeling, to know that something I created is going to be a real, physical product. Which leads me to this site.

Going forward, I'll be posting some of the sample images of designs I've recently uploaded to this site, in the front page gallery. I really hope everyone enjoys the art. I'm having a lot of fun making it. And please feel free to order something. I've gotta pay down those loans some how.

-William

PS: sorry for the super boring intro. I've spent all day trying to figure out how this site should look, and I'm feeling a bit fried. I'll post more later.
